Day 78

The floors are fabulous! They are so beautiful that I just stand and stare at them. Cupboard doors are on as well and looking very nice. happy happy!

Day 71-B

Ahhhhhhh...it looks so much better without the brown tile! The last picture shows how it looked as Tile Guy removed the offensive rectangles and then you can see how it looks now. Serene and calm again. And...we have a toilet! And faucets! Hooray!

Day 71

Here are some photos of the tile in the kitchen that I hate!!! It has been quite a 24 hour period of not much sleep, phone calls, messing up the work schedule and running around to tile stores. The floor guys came yesterday to put down some color samples. They'll start tomorrow and we'll move out for a few days. Hectic!!

Day 66

Granite and soapstone are in! I am in love with the countertops. I wanted to gaze at them all day long but I was in the electrician's way. Good thing I moved because they put in the light fixtures today. It's all so pretty! Do you like the new carpet on the stairs? : )

Day 60

I walked into the dining room yesterday morning to find the guys painting it green instead of yellow!! After making them stop and call their boss I considered it for a while and decided to let them continue with green. It's so calm and I think it's going to look nice with our colorful tile. The picture with the lined white tile is in the laundry room. I LOVE the bathroom tile now that it has grout. Hooray!

Day 58

Um, rain at the end of June?? NOT California weather! It's hard to tell but the island is painted a light green. The tile is in the laundry room and waiting for grout.

Day 57

The bathroom tile is finished! Most of the walls downstairs are painted and the cabinets are ready for their final color coat of paint. They won't be quite as white as they look right now. The laundry room floor is out.

Day 53

The bathroom tile is half way in and everything is primed and ready for paint. The tile is MUCH more colorful that I thought it would be! Every other place we looked at the samples it was very pale and I worried that there wasn't enough color. Sure changes once it's on the wall!

Day 51

The wood floors are in! They will be stained a dark cherry color in a week or two. The cabinet doors are off and everything is prepped for paint. It's really moving along quickly this week!

Day 46

The changes have been rather unremarkable until this week when we got the cabinets!! Now it's starting to look like our new kitchen. We also have a new pocket door on the TV room and the bathroom vanity is in.

Day 23

The PTA sponsored staff appreciation luncheon for our kids' teachers was supposed to be in the back yard. Unfortunately that morning it was cloudy and threatening rain so we had the party inside. Good thing there wasn't a kitchen to get in the way of all the tables!
